The West Coast metropolis of Los Angeles, CA is one of the most active cities in the U.S. and a big part of California's dominating economy -which is in the top ten of the world's largest economies. This city is home to many famous and very well-known landmarks, amusement parks and rising towers. The mixture of ethnicities and cultures make L.A. one of the most diversified cities in the world next to New York City. Due to its vast size and a long list of attractions and recreational activities, it would be nearly impossible to ever see or do all that this city has to offer during one single trip. However, if you do plan on visiting Los Angeles in the near future, below are some places and things that you might want to consider doing during your visit:

La Brea Tar Pits

This place has been featured in many major motion pictures including "Last Action Hero" that starred the former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Back during the ancient times of human civilization, many creatures were sucked into these vast tar pits, their fossils preserved forever. Today, visitors can walk around the pits on guided tours and even watch as archeologists excavate fossils.

California Science Center

This is one of the world's most popular museums and one of the most visited locations in California. It houses hundreds of fully interactive exhibits which are accessible free of charge. It also boasts of being the only IMAX Theater in the city, which offers daily exhibitions of different science-related movies on one of the largest known viewing screens. Guided tours are also available.

Griffith Observatory

Griffith J. Griffith built and donated this observatory to the city in the early 1900s. It is considered to be one of the best-known landmarks in California and home to a fantastic planetarium-one of the few of its caliber in the world. If you find yourself on vacation in this beautiful city, make sure that you set aside a few hours to check out this awesome place and see the laser light show; it will blow your mind! The facility also offers the best view of the entire city.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Ranked as world class museums, this facility houses the most complete art collections in the world. Apart from being home to the most impressive permanent collections of art in the world, but it also houses paintings, pots, and sculptures that date all the way back to the ancient times; some priceless works are as old as 6000 BCE. Of course, there are thousands of other masterpiece artworks that you can see here. This museum comes highly recommended for all L.A. visitors!

You can also choose to indulge in the many fun activities and events that take place along the city’s beaches, visit the local parks, go shopping in one of the local malls or stores, explore the night life or dine in one of the world’s top rated restaurants.
