Ian is our Director of Operations but he wears many other hats around the office. Ian will tell you though his most important duty is making sure that all of the staff and participants have everything they need in order to be set up for success. Always going the extra mile to make certain everyone feels welcomed and appreciated. Ian comes to us from Texas where he worked in Construction Management. After battling Alcoholism since his years of adolescence, Ian was able to make it to Recovery. He has found a greater purpose in life by helping others through such troubling and pivotal times. His position with Crescent Moon Recovery optimizes his ability to manage operations on a day-to-day basis but more importantly use his platform to help as many people as possible.
My name is Paul Vidal. I am forty-nine years of age. I was born in the city of Los Angeles and I come from a large family. I basically was raised by my grandparents. I became the product of my environment, brushes with the law and drugs of all kinds were prevalent among my aunts and uncles. I perceived drinking and using to be normal behavior.
We are all offered many roads in life and I chose the wrong one. I took my first drink of alcohol at the age of thirteen and the race was on. I tried every current drug and pushed my life to serious consequences with the law. Today, I realize that many of my problems were self-driven, attitudinal and caused by me. I was broken and a ready candidate for recovery. I was forty-seven when I got sober. I found myself a home group in 12 Step Program and immediately found me a sponsor who had forty-one years of sobriety and he was quite demanding. That 12 Step Program has given me a life worth living. Working the twelve steps and practicing the spiritual principles while helping others, has given me hope of the promises to achieve a life of happy destiny. After twenty-eight months of recovery, I have a new passion to help other alcoholics and addicts achieve sobriety.
Stephanie Banning has worked in the field of addiction treatment for almost a decade. Though education and encouraging her clients to be authentic to their unique personal identities, she helps them develop the tools they need to find healing. She is passionate about empowering others to take responsibility for their own growth. Stephanie’s commitment to recovery is born out of her own struggles with mental health and wellness. Her journey to wholeness led her down a path full of confusion and uncertainty. After years of battling misdiagnoses, poor professional care, and a lack of educational awareness, Stephanie found healing and growth through a variety of outlets. These experiences have inspired her to develop programs for addiction and co-occurring disorders that are effective and appropriately identify the root issues with which her clients struggle. When Stephanie is not running a treatment facility or engaged in her private practice, she and her husband of more than a decade enjoy being outdoors with their 3-year-old son and their Boxer, Bubba.
Carli started her life living under a bridge on the Southside of Houston, Texas. She was surrounded by drug use and poverty. She eventually asked Ian to sponsor her and moved into his apartment for sober living. Carli’s recovery has a strong emphasis on 12-treat programs and a dedication to comforting others. She is a loving and calming presence around the office but she also loves to go on outings with the participants. Specifically to the dog beach. Carli is a great example of discipline and compassion for our community members and overall just a really good girl.
