What makes Coastline Behavioral Health for Women unique is our individualized care and attention given to each client. The foundation for our program is based on care and compassion. We believe in teaching and rehabilitating as opposed to punishing and directing. Our treatment staff understands the devastating effect that addiction has on individuals and families. We work to build trusting relationships with our clients to create a foundation for sobriety that can help them build healthy and fulfilling lives in recovery.
We have created a program designed by women for women. We believe in empowering our clients with values of respect, compassion, empathy and nonjudgment. We are a ‘wholistic’ program and understand that we are not treating just the symptoms but to treat the entire person. There are psychological factors impacting addiction. We believe it’s necessary to address underlying psychological factors that have consciously and unconsciously maintained addiction or cased several relapses. Though there is a general underlying issue that is common to people in general, such as mood dysfunction, the type, intensity and manifestation of psychological factors varies from individual to individual. We take care in maintaining an attitude of curiosity and interest in understanding one’s unique story.
We often hear stories riddled with tragedy, trauma, shame, fear, guilt and inadequacies, so we listen carefully and look for the survival skills and the strength embedded in the pain and self-destructive behavior. We pride ourselves on being a strength based program. Though we do not disregard the client’s story, we also try not to dwell on the content. In addition to listening for underlying patterns, we desire encouraging stories about the ways the clients have coped so far. We applaud the resilience they have shown thus far in surviving and choosing to seek help instead of continuing on the self-sabotaged path they have been on.
