Therapy Focused on Patient Needs
There are different types of therapies that have proven to work well for individuals seeking drug addiction recovery. Our clinical team works with clients in individual and group settings. We utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize how their emotions, thought patterns and social situations can be triggers for drinking or illicit drug cravings. With the help of our therapists, individuals can learn how to avoid these negative, dangerous situations and replace them with options that do not threaten to derail recovery. And with Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) our treatment team is able to help client understand how triggering internal motivation for recovery can encourage rethinking addictive behaviors. This type of counseling is often used in conjunction with other group sessions such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Our clinicians and case managers are involved in creating and continuously growing the experiential therapy program. We are always searching for new techniques, activities, and methods that fit our clients’ needs. The primary goals of Experiential Therapy are to connect physical and mental health, establish and improve teamwork skills, and foster accountability and discipline. Our groups are designed to challenge and empower our clients. It is our role as facilitators to guide and support our clients as they develop skills that will aid them in their recovery as well as their lives. As we challenge them and expose them to trying situations, it is imperative that we maintain our composure and professionalism so we will be looked to as leaders and examples for our clients. Over time, we establish a system of leaders who can overcome obstacles occurring in their day to day life.
